This is the top shelf of one of my display cases, and every specimen here represents far more than a beautiful crystal.

Each one is the result of years of searching, countless conversations with miners, dealers, and collectors around the world, studying new discoveries, chasing old collections, and waiting patiently for the right opportunity. Many opportunities came and went. Many pieces were passed on. But every specimen that earned a place on this shelf had to be truly exceptional.

From the legendary etched aquamarines of Medina and Jaqueto in Brazil, to the electric blues of Vietnam and Mozambique, alongside extraordinary heliodors from Ukraine, Medina, and Padre Paraíso, each crystal captures a unique moment in the Earth’s history that will never be repeated.

Some localities are long exhausted. Others produce only occasionally. Many of these crystals could never be replaced today, which makes them even more meaningful to me.

This shelf isn’t about owning beautiful minerals—it’s about the adventure behind finding them. The research, the relationships, the travel, the excitement of uncovering something extraordinary, and the privilege of preserving these natural masterpieces for future generations.

For me, the hunt has always been just as rewarding as the destination.
