Now THIS is Illinois Fluorite.
An absolutely killer “toadstool” Fluorite from the legendary Minerva No. 1 Mine, exploding with that SUPER electric blue sitting over a rich golden-yellow base—and then you look inside and catch those beautiful purple zones running through the crystal.
The color combination on this piece is just ridiculous. That intense blue practically GLOWS, while the yellow and purple zoning give it incredible depth and contrast. And that classic overhanging crystal formation gives it the unmistakable toadstool look.
Another serious piece from one of my favorite historic Illinois localities. BLUE. YELLOW. PURPLE. TOADSTOOL PERFECTION.
