Color Play Magic … Denton Mine Fluorite showing off under shifting backlights.

Watch this beauty transform as three different backlight colors reveal entirely different personalities hiding inside the crystal — from dreamy pinks and purples to electric blues and warm amber flashes. It’s moments like this that remind you why collectors fall so deeply in love with classic Illinois fluorites.

This piece comes from the legendary Denton Mine in Hardin County, Illinois, one of the most famous sources of high-end fluorite ever discovered. Operated by Ozark‑Mahoning Company from 1981–1994, the mine produced extraordinary cubic crystals known for their saturated blues, purples, and the collector-favorite “blurple” zoning.

Turn the light… and the crystal tells a different story every time.

With the mine closed since 1994, pieces like this have become true classics in fine mineral collections — and when you add dynamic lighting, the magic really comes alive.
