EPIC is the only word that fits…

This next-level Denton Mine fluorite sits beautifully perched on lustrous sphalerite, showing incredible zoning that shifts through deep purples and electric blues. The aesthetics are simply off the charts—sharp, sculptural fluorite with dramatic contrast against the dark, glassy sphalerite matrix. Pieces like this define why the Illinois–Kentucky Fluorspar District is legendary among serious collectors.

Ex. Ross Lillie Collection, adding another layer of pedigree to an already elite specimen.

The Denton Mine in Hardin County, Illinois produced some of the most coveted fluorite specimens ever recovered—famed for their saturated colors, sharp cube-octahedral forms, and classic associations with jet-black sphalerite and golden calcite from the famous Bahama ore body. With the mine closing in 1995, true showpieces from this locality have become increasingly difficult to secure… and the finest examples remain cornerstone pieces in high-end collections.

A true Illinois classic for the advanced fluorite collector.
