Blue Badger Classic from Annabel Lee

A standout miniature featuring beautifully formed, glassy, gemmy cubic fluorite crystals perched on matrix—showcasing that unmistakable Denton Mine intensity. The color leans rich blue with subtle hints of soft purple zoning that emerge under shifting light, adding depth and character to an already striking piece.

Condition is excellent overall. What may initially look like edge wear on one cube is actually natural growth, preserving the integrity and authenticity collectors look for in fine Illinois material. Collected in the mid-1980s, this specimen carries that vintage charm from a golden era of Fluorspar District mining.

The Annabel Lee Mine, part of the historic Illinois–Kentucky Fluorspar District near Cave-in-Rock in Hardin County, was a key producer of high-quality fluorite from limestone-hosted vein systems. Alongside fluorite, the mine yielded classic associations including calcite, galena, and sphalerite—cementing its place in one of the most important fluorspar-producing regions in the United States.

A sharp, colorful, and highly displayable example of classic Midwestern fluorite. Acquired from
