Collected in the mid-1980s, this specimen carries that vintage charm from a golden era of Fluorspar District mining.

The Annabel Lee Mine, part of the historic Illinois–Kentucky Fluorspar District near Cave-in-Rock in Hardin County, was a key producer of high-quality fluorite from limestone-hosted vein systems. Alongside fluorite, the mine yielded classic associations including calcite, galena, and sphalerite—cementing its place in one of the most important fluorspar-producing regions in the United States.
